In line with the Mater Deian philosophy of education, vision and mission, the Home Room-Guidance program aims to assist each student to become a person who recognizes and appreciates his/her God-given unique potentials (talino) and is willing to persevere (tiyaga) to develop and share it for the common good. As a learning community, mentored by their adviser,  the students are taught  to be deeply grateful to God and imbued with a desire to learn to love Him with all their heart, mind, strength and soul and to love others as God loves them (Pusong dakila).

Science Research 1

Science Research I is a course in the STEM curriculum that is designed to equip students with essential scientific attitudes and skills that will prepare them in conducting science investigations. These skills include observing, inferring, classifying, predicting, communicating, formulating hypothesis, identifying variables, describing relationships between variables, designing investigation, experimenting and writing simple scientific reports. This course provides an excellent groundwork or prerequisite course for higher research works.

Consumer Chemistry

This course is a study and investigation into the chemistry and chemicals of everyday life. The study of chemistry is studied along with practical applications. Topics of study include basics of: organic chemistry, food chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, chemistry and medicine. Organic chemistry is taken as a prerequisite knowledge for polymerization and polymer materials. Food chemistry is limited to essential topics suited to the grade level, such as preservatives, food preservation, food processing, and chemistry of changes occurring during processing, storage and utilization. Topics on Chemistry in Everyday Life are selected based on practicality to students, as well as consideration of students’ age group interest. Advanced materials are also included, to motivate future innovators. Chapter on Chemistry and Medicine is chosen for health and wellness in order to promote quality life.

Ang Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP) 9 ay isa sa mga asignatura ng Pinaunlad na Programa ng Batayang Edukasyon na K to 12 na gagabay at huhubog sa mga kabataan. Layunin nito na mapatnubayan ang mag-aaral upang higit niyang maunawaan ang kanyang papel sa lipunan at ang halaga nito sa pag-unlad ng kaniyang pagkatao at maisagawa ang tungkulin sa lipunann, maipamalas ang mga pagpapahalagang kaugnayan sa paggwa tungo sa pag-unlad ng sarili, kapwa at bansa.

The learner demonstrates understanding of salient features of Western music and the arts from different historical periods, through appreciation, analysis, and performance for self-development, the celebration of Filipino cultural identity and diversity, and the expansion of one’s world vision. In physical education, the learner demonstrates understanding of community fitness in sustaining and promoting an active lifestyle. And lastly in health, the learner demonstrates understanding of community and environmental health; injury prevention, safety and first aid); and prevention of substance use and abuse to achieve, sustain, and promote community health and wellness

Ang asignaturang ito ay may layuning naipamamalas ang malalim na pag-unawa sa mga pangunahing kaisipan at napapanahong isyu sa ekonomiks at pambansang pag-unlad gamit ang mga kasanayan at pagpapahalaga ng mga disiplinang panlipunan tungo sa paghubog ng mamamayang mapanuri, mapagnilay, mapanagutan, makakalikasan, produktibo, makatarungan, at makataong mamamayan ng bansa at daigdig.

The K to 12 science curriculum is learner-centered and inquiry-based, emphasizing the use of evidence in constructing explanations. Concepts and skills in Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences are presented with increasing levels of complexity from one grade level to another in spiral progression, thus paving the way to a  deeper understanding of core concepts.  The integration across science topics and other disciplines will lead to a  meaningful understanding of concepts and their application to real-life situations.

In English 9, the learners can express their understanding of how Anglo-American literature and other types of texts use as means of enhancing one's self. Also, in processing, assessing and summarizing information.

As stated in K to 12 Curriculum Guide, at the end of this course, the learner demonstrates communicative competence through his/ her understanding of British-American Literature including Philippine Literature and other texts types for a deeper appreciation of Philippine Culture and those of other countries.
