In line with the Mater Deian philosophy of education, vision and mission, the Home Room-Guidance program aims to assist each student to become a person who recognizes and appreciates his/her God-given unique potentials (talino) and is willing to persevere (tiyaga) to develop and share it for the common good. As a learning community, mentored by their adviser,  the students are taught  to be deeply grateful to God and imbued with a desire to learn to love Him with all their heart, mind, strength and soul and to love others as God loves them (Pusong dakila).

Computer Science 8 is a course about learning photo and video editing, mainly focuses on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere. The grade 8 students should be able to know how to navigate and use the tools available in photo and video editing applications to provide quality and creative products.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology is a fast-rising field of endeavor both in the local and global settings and one of the greatest breakthroughs of the 20th century since its potentials is huge especially in augmenting poverty and hunger. The main objective of this subject is to educate students and prepare them for their future roles as leaders, journalists, entrepreneurs, scientists, or even as private citizens with adequate knowledge for them to make informed decisions on biotechnology products, latest breakthroughs and developments and related issues on human health, and the environment, and ethical concerns. Furthermore, to encourage more Filipino youth to pursue career in this field and become staunch advocates of biotechnology in the country now and beyond.

 The learner is expected to demonstrate an understanding of salient features of Asian music and the arts, through appreciation, analysis, and performance for self-development, the celebration of Filipino cultural identity and diversity, and the expansion of one’s world vision. In terms of Physical Education, the learner demonstrates an understanding of family and school fitness in sustaining an active lifestyle. Lastly in health, the learner demonstrates an understanding of family health and prevention and control of diseases and disorders (communicable and non-communicable)  to achieve, sustain, and promote family health and wellness.

The K to 12 science curriculum is learner-centered and inquiry-based, emphasizing the use of evidence in constructing explanations. Concepts and skills in Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences are presented with increasing levels of complexity from one grade level to another in spiral progression, thus paving the way to a  deeper understanding of core concepts.  The integration across science topics and other disciplines will lead to a  meaningful understanding of concepts and their application to real-life situations.

The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts and principles of patterns and algebra (factors of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables); geometry (axiomatic structure of geometry, triangle congruence, inequalities in a triangle, and parallel and perpendicular lines); and statistics and probability (probability of simple events) as applied - using appropriate technology - in critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, communicating, making connections, representations, and decisions in real life.

In English 8, the learners discover that the informative texts as well oral literature reflect the traditions and values of Afro-Asian countries which have influences on distinctive characteristics and identity as Filipino and as an Asian.

In line in K to 12 Curriculum, at the end of every session in this course, the learner demonstrates communicative competence through his/ her understanding of Afro-Asian Literature and other texts types for a deeper appreciation of Philippine Culture and those of other countries.
